Head Teacher – Brooklyn Macdonald

My name is Brooklyn , I am a third-year student in Education at Simon Fraser University. I am deeply passionate about teaching and helping others discover their love for learning. My aspiration to become a teacher is fueled by my desire to inspire and support students in their educational journeys, nurturing their curiosity and academic growth. Being fluent in both French and English, I am able to connect with a diverse range of students and foster an inclusive learning environment. My experience working at a tutoring center, where I assist children from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in all subjects, has further solidified my commitment to education and my ability to adapt to different learning needs.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I find immense joy in immersing myself in nature through hiking and camping. Additionally, I indulge in my creative side through baking and sewing. I am particularly excited to work as an assistant teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church’s summer camp, where I can put my skills and enthusiasm for teaching to use!

Paul Tarasenko – Teacher

Hello! My name is Paul Tarasenko, and I am an enthusiastic educator currently teaching at Regent Christian Academy, with extensive experience teaching various high school courses such as History 12, Law 12, Human Geography 12, Social Studies 9 & 10, and Career Education. I strive to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that foster academic excellence and personal growth.

My teaching philosophy centres around nurturing critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills, preparing students effectively for their future endeavours.

I hold a valid BC Teaching Certification and have completed multiple teaching practicums across various grades and subjects. Alongside my teaching role, I also work as an after-school Educational Assistant, where I provide individualized instruction in areas such as math, science, reading, and writing. My experiences have equipped me to adeptly support diverse learning needs, including English language learners and students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
