The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) partners with the Evangelical  Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) to do God's work around the world in a Global Mission Partnership. This involves sending young adults on short and long term missions, supporting long term teachers, nurses, administrators and more in international settings, providing scholarships for students form developing countries to attend university. As well as fostering companion SYNOD relationships around the world -- all various expressions of the Good News revealed in Jesus Christ at work to heal, save and transform the world. Harvest Hands International is a mission started by a son of TLC, Tim Specht, in Uganda to work with people that are disadvantaged and vulnerable, putting Jesus at the centre of the work, and forming partnerships, programs, projects and small business enterprises which transform local communities to provide for themselves and give witness to God's love and presence.
