Lead Teacher – Caitlin Ellemo

Hi, my name is Caitlin. I am excited to be teaching the Trinity Lutheran Church STEAM summer camp this year and look forward to leading the students through a variety of engaging activities. I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents of all ages in various educational settings. I bring a strengths-based approach and an awareness of the diverse needs, emotions, and viewpoints of young people, which has always fostered a safe and inclusive environment conducive to both learning and enjoyment. Promoting cultural diversity awareness and fostering social-emotional skills among youth are integral aspects of my teaching philosophy.

I earned my bachelor's degree from UBC and am currently pursuing a Master of Counselling Psychology in Vancouver with a focus on becoming a child counsellor. Working alongside children is my passion, and when I'm not studying, you can find me reading, running, or spending time with friends and family."

Assistant Teacher – Brooklyn Macdonald

My name is Brooklyn , I am a third-year student at Simon Fraser University studying to become a teacher! I am deeply passionate about teaching and helping others discover their love for learning. My aspiration to become a teacher is fueled by my desire to inspire and support students in their educational journeys, nurturing their curiosity and academic growth. Being fluent in both French and English, I am able to connect with a diverse range of students and foster an inclusive learning environment. My experience working at a tutoring center, where I assist children from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in all subjects, has further solidified my commitment to education and my ability to adapt to different learning needs.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I find immense joy in immersing myself in nature through hiking and camping. Additionally, I indulge in my creative side through baking and sewing. I am particularly excited to work as an assistant teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church’s summer camp, where I can put my skills and enthusiasm for teaching to use!
